Check-in happened one hour later than confirmed. When we entered the apartment, it smelled heavily of smoke, although being advertised as a non-smoking apartment. Cleanliness- in the living room, there were dust & crumbs. The cushions in the living room and also of the outside furniture were not clean. In the kitchen, appliances like water boiler and coffee machine were ok at best but did definitely not have a proper cleaning after the previous guests. When we locked the terrace door in the living room, we were not able to open it again because it was broken, so we could not access the terrace from the living room for 1,5 days. The handle of the bathroom door in the master bedroom fell off so you had to leave the door open with a gap while in the bathroom. There are no window blinds in the master bedroom, which can be very bright especially in the morning. The smallest room doesn’t have aircon but instead the hot water boiler is inside. The pillowcases outside are torn. The nespresso machine was broken (instead there was a filter machine, but still worth mentioning since we bought capsules we couldn’t use). After mentioning the smoke smell and the problem with the lock, we were offered and extra cleaning & change of towels. Also they took care of the lock. I understand that you cannot control every guest and that previous guests might smoke in the apartment although they were not allowed to do so. I also appreciate the change of towels. In total, we still had a good stay and enjoyed the apartment after the smoke smell went away. However, the issues with the apartment, as mentioned above, added up and were to many in total in order to give the apartment a better review.

In regard to the issues with cleanliness, we deeply regret that the apartment did not meet your expectations. While we’re glad that our team responded quickly by providing an extra cleaning service and fixing the terrace door, we will work on improving the quality of our cleaning procedures to avoid such concerns in the future.
